I'm not judging him, an if I did that surely will not be from the movies. I have read a lot about Vlad and everything that had happen to him so I've made my conclusion on the basis of that.

Vlad was a Hero. He did everythink to protect his Land and his People.
And he reign over his People very well.

I think he was a total hero. sure he did some things but alot of them were myths made by his enemies to excuse thier failures and make peasants hate him. not to mention alot of damage was done by Bram Stoker and Eliabeth Bathory(look at my topic to understand more)

I think Dracula was most time a hero. The cruel things he had done were (partly) normal in that time. But in my opinoin he wasn't normal. If he would be, he wouldn't became so famous. And all that I read about him until know shows me, that Dracula had many faces. A hero but also a cruel man. (Again, sorry for the bad english)
